This, my friends, is the beautiful new home of the Norwegian Opera and Ballet in Oslo, Norway.
There are many things I love about this building. Firstly, it is an opera house.  Need I say more?  Need I elaborate on my dreams of performing inside such an inspiring structure? No. No, I do not.
Secondly, the architecture is so smart. I love that it looks like a giant glacier slipping into the water. I also love that it a public building in every sense of the word; there is no part of the structure that is “off limits”, no roof with a private entrance.
It shatters the idea that great architecture can only be appreciated by some.  Fitting, considering it is an opera house - an art form that consistently struggles with its own elitist reputation.
